Sevilla - Madrid - Toledo


Days 1-2


USA - Sevilla

Picture

​• Arrive at Sevilla airport and meet your Tour Director and Team Leader
• Board bus and travel to Sevilla’s city center
• Meet host families. During the homestay program, breakfast and dinner will be with the host family. Box lunch will be prepared by family daily. 

Day 5


Sevilla - Local School

Picture

​• Meet your Tour Director and Team Leader
• Spend a day visiting and attending classes at a local school. You will meet with your Spanish buddy, accompanying them in their classes.
• Visit a traditional farmers market, located on the remains of an ancient castle.
• Stroll along the historic banks of the Guadalquivir river
• Free time to stroll through the historic city center and do some shopping
 • Return to host families

Day 3


Sevilla - Monuments

​​• Meet your Tour Director and Team Leader
• Have a sightseeing tour that includes Sevilla’s cathedral, the Alcazar (Europe’s oldest active royal palace), and Santa Cruz historic Jewish quarter.
• Free time to stroll through the historic city center and do some shopping
• Visit the Museum of Flamenco and then attend a live performance on site
 • Return to host families

Day 6


Sevilla - National Park

​• Meet your Tour Director and Team Leader
• Board bus and travel to Doñana National Park
• Explore this UNESCO World Heritage natural reserve, visit its lagoons, woodlands, marshlands and sand dunes.
 • Return to host families

Day 4


Sevilla - Gate to America

​• Meet your Tour Director and Team Leader
• Board your and travel to Palos de la Frontera (Huelva).
• Visit Monasterio de Santa María de La Rábida where Christopher Columbus visited in 1490 to plan his discoveries.
• Visit Muelle de las Carabelas, the very place from where Columbus sailed out in 1492 to discover America.  See (and get on board) the replicas of the Niña, Pinta, and Santa María, the ships Columbus commanded on this 1st trip
• Spend rest of the day at the beach

 • Return to host families

Day 7


Madrid

​• Meet your Spain Prep Tour Director at Santa Justa Rail Station
• Board your AVE (high speed train) and travel to Madrid. As Spain's cosmopolitan capital city, Madrid continually captures the hearts of its visitors with world-famous museums, historic buildings and lively plazas
• Have lunch and then have a visit of Madrid historical city center. Go for a walk from Puerta del Sol to Plaza Mayor. Discover the magnificent Palacio Real, considered one of the finest palaces in Europe
 • Return to accommodations in Madrid

Day 8


Madrid - Toledo

• Meet your Tour Director and Team Leader
• Board your bus and travel to Toledo
• Spend the day at Spain's first capital, Toledo. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986, this is the city that inspired Renaissance painter El Greco in the 16th century. Since then it has remained largely unchanged in its blend of Arabic, Jewish, Christian and Visigothic elements. 
• Board buses for our trip back to Madrid. Have some free time for shopping before dinner
 • Return to accommodations in Madrid

Day 9


Madrid - USA

​• Transfer to Madrid airport
• Board your flight back home
