Day 3 - Tres Culturas Tour and Flamenco Masterclass

Today, the students embarked in a quest to discover heritage sites left by the three main faiths that coexisted in medieval Spain, Islam, Christianity and Judaism. They visited the Catedral de Sevilla, the world’s 3rd largest Christian temple, which was built on a former Mosque. The Arabic influence was more evident when they visited the Alcazar, Europe’s oldest active Royal Palace, which started as a fortress during the city’s Islamic period and then turned into a palace during the reign of the Christian king Pedro de Castilla. Seville’s Jewish history was revisited in Barrio de Santa Cruz, exploring the narrow winding streets of the Jewish Quarter.
